master bedroom in the process

I just spent 2 hours this morning folding the 10+ loads of laundry that covered the rug and chair in our bedroom, changing our bed sheets, and cleaning our room.

Our bedroom that has been stripped of wall paper but still needs patched and new paint.

Our floors that got ripped up to the original floorboards but will wait for awhile for something new.

I made our mattress that still sits on the floor waiting for the bed that’s been in the box since November to be assembled.

Dusted that dresser that is not at all what I want to use in this room, but was what I had when we moved. So it works for now.

Those windows that will soon get replaced but for now get icy when its cold and are nearly impossible to open.

You see I could dwell on the fact that the lists are long and expensive, the projects are on hold while Scotty puts in extra hours at work.

Or I can choose to remember. Remember that this farm and home were still a dream last year at this time. Be grateful that in our bedroom, morning sunlight streams through, those plants are all still alive, all the pieces I’ve saved and the designs I’ve dreamed up in my head are coming together slowly but in just the right time.

I know I post pretty things, finished and completed projects. Sometimes it’s a good reminder that there is beauty in the process and it’s our choice which perspective we want to be our focus.

Here’s to the middle and choosing to love it!
